The Ulysses Guimarães Convention Center
The Ulysses Guimarães Convention Center (CCUG) was opened in 1978 as a cultural centre with capacity for 424 people. In 2005, it was redesigned by architect Sérgio Bernardes, renovated, expanded and reopened. The new facility enabled the growth of tourism events in Brasilia. The Center occupies a total area of 54 square kilometers, with the capacity for 9,400 people. The CCUG is divided into three wings – the South Wing, the Central Wing and the North Wing.
The key areas of the CCUG are the Master Auditorium that can accommodate up to 3,000 people; various modular rooms; cafeterias; facilities for press and VIPs and capacity to hold hundreds of exhibition booths.
The Ulysses Guimarães Convention Center (CCUG) is located in Brasilia’s heart. It is close to the city’s hotel disctrict as well as shopping amities and the city park. The convention centre is 15 minutes away from Brazilia’s airport Presidente Juscelino Kubitschek de Oliveira.
